What is a Kya Announcement?

Information that is inclusive, applicable and relevant to the whole Panorama community. Criteria for Kya Announcements include being 100 characters or less for the following categories:

➢Changes and/or cancellations of events, programs and/or meetings

➢Closures of facilities and gates

➢Maintenance, grounds and operational notices and updates

➢Construction notices and updates

➢Severe weather announcements

➢Promos for Panorama groups and events on campus available for all Panorama Residents to participate

Privacy & Copyright

It is the responsibility of the sending party for Kya Announcements to obtain approval and/or Copyright licenses for announcements on behalf of another individual, that include an individual’s personal contact information, images, art works, music, sounds and videos before they are sent for posting on Kya.

If you are a resident group leader, you may want to watch this week’s Inside Panorama.  Kathy Houston, the host has a conversation with Lu Hamacek and Brian Hovis about how resident groups can get the word out about their activities. You’ll learn how Panorama Television and Kya can help you with your communication needs.

The Glass Case Display will be featuring JEWELRY beginning April 4.

The Panorama Photography Group theme for the month of April is curves.  As you’re walking around Panorama or traveling, look for interesting curves.

Upload your photographs to April: Curves.  Even if you're not a photographer, take a look at the album and see the beautiful photos being taken.  You can see the albums on Kya.  Just go to the activities section, scroll down to the photography group, and then the section on themes.  Then click on whichever month you wish to see - or look at all of them.

Josh Trunnell, Executive Chef of the Seventeen51 Restaurant and Bistro gives us the menu for Monday, March  27 through Friday, March 31.  Josh always adds the “Heat and Serve” and Take and Bake menu options in his video.  This week Josh reminds us that you can freeze both menu options and serve them some night you do not feel like cooking. Order by Wednesday for a Friday delivery. What’s Cooking at Seventeen51 is always on News with Lu, on channel 370 or Panorama TV on Demand or the streaming channel on Roku or Apple TV.  Also Kya/Dining/Weekly Features.

Businesses and organizations throughout the country celebrate Careers in Aging Week annually to bring greater awareness to the wide range of jobs available in the field of aging.

To celebrate this year, video interviews featuring some of Panorama's amazing staff will be posted daily this week.

Tillicum Guild, the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild at Panorama, will meet Thursday April 6 at 1:30 in the Chalet Lower Level. We will have Show and Tell of the hand made items for the patients. All residents are welcome. For info. call Liz Roberts - 5271 or Lucy Reuter - 5220.

Mon 3   United Churches of Olympia presents Holy Week Organ Concert~ An annual Holy Week organ concert, co-hosted by the Olympia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and United Churches of Olympia. The concert will feature organ works from a wide range of genres performed by Daniel Colgan, April Kuhr, Dennis Northway, and Will Stuivenga. It is free and open to the public. $3.00, Bus Leaves 11:30am

Mon 17 Nisqually Red Wind Casino~ Red Wind Casino is the greater Olympia area’s go-to spot for gaming, dining and entertainment. We feature more than 1,500 slot machines, a complete array of table games, four restaurants, and a sports bar. We also offer table games including craps, roulette, blackjack, Pai Gow, and three-card poker along with Keno and Speed Keno. Sign up for the bus at the Activity Desk. This trip must have a minimum of 3 attendees for transportation services to be available. Cost includes transportation. $3.00, Bus Leaves 11:00am (Reboard Bus at 3:00pm)

Tue 18 Timberline High School presents 18th Annual Throwback Concert~ Directed by Terry Shaw, featuring the talented Timberline High School Choir performing old Jazz standards from the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. Tickets are purchased at the door. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Sign up for the bus at the Activity Desk. $3.00, Bus Leaves 6:15pm

No matter how much you know, join the Learner's Group at the Pickleball Court every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am - 10:00am! The perfect time (and place) to learn the game or hone your basic skills!

There are still a few unclaimed copies of the 2023 Panorama Resident Directory. If you live in Independent Living and have not yet picked yours up, they are still available in the Resident Council office until March 31.

The office is open Monday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Sea Level Rise Flooding, an 8-part video series, will be shown over a 5-week period beginning April 1 at 2:00PM on Channel 370.  Bill Lange, Panorama resident and visual storyteller, and Paul Enns, Host, illustrate how different local government agencies developed and implemented a plan to mitigate flooding due to climate change in the downtown Olympia area.
