The mission of the Benevolent Fund at Panorama is:
- First, to provide financial assistance to residents in need.
- Second, to fund services and quality of life projects to help all residents transition smoothly through the various phases of aging.
About the Benevolent Fund
The Benevolent Fund was established in 1972 as a 501(c)(3) corporation, a non-profit charitable organization.
A lifetime membership fee of one ($1) dollar makes any resident a member of the Benevolent Fund and eligible to vote in the Fall election and the annual meeting.
Charity Navigator, the world’s largest and most trusted nonprofit evaluator, rates the Benevolent Fund at its highest level of 100.
What does the Benevolent Fund Provide to Residents?
In the last 10 years, the Benevolent Fund has contributed over $5,000,000 to provide the following safety-net programs available at no charge to all residents of Panorama.
- Financial Assistance Program
- This support is extended to Independent Living residents who have outlived their planned financial resources.
- Social Services Advisors
- The Fund supports three Social Service Advisors who assist residents in various aspects of their life while navigating Panorama’s continuum of care.
- SARA ® (Situational Awareness Response Assistant)
- The Fund provides a personal emergency alert pendant to every Independent Living resident.
The Fund also sponsors educational programs, such as the Mary Donnelly Dementia series.
These services and programs are made possible by an Annual Fund Drive, memorials, bequests and individual donations, as well as by contributions from the Panorama Corporation, Benevolent Fund-operated sales events and charitable partnerships. The Stiles Beach Barn accepts clean, usable donations for resale in the Barn, Encore, and online. Please check this current list of items we will take and those we no longer accept.
